I would like to know why he did it. Bar - Arizona, I have a feeling he had a good reason to cork the guy even if it was the wrong decision.

Meh what ever. Young guys fighting at bars is nothing new. I bet buddy was churping so he got smacked in the mouth.

Meh...the "other guy" may have deserved it. Me or you gets in a bar fight, nobody knows, or cares. Someone with money does, it's a major event. Very sad.

No doubt. Head downtown on most night and there's dudes scrapping. People want to crucify this guy though. Rookie game nights are generally crazy events, so he went out and had one too many after......big deal. The cabbie ended up with a bloody lower lip?......why even get the cops involved?? Oh yeah.....$$$....here comes the lawsuit. The cabbie will be "scarred" by this traumatic event and no doubt need a couple million to help reduce the "trauma".
When every witness and the victim say it was totally unprovoked, and he was getting thrown out of a bar for being too intoxicated and disorderly, Id say its a bigger deal then a simple barfight.

It was a dumb move no doubt. But, IMO you have to have more than just a bloody lip to be called a "victim". People have had worse injuries than that just chewing their own food. If you or I did this no one would care. A millionaire athlete pulls this and everyone's a "victim" and witnesses against him pop up from every gutter and hole in the ground. Cue the lawyers....

It seems as though another punk kid that can't hold his liquor and thinks he's a lot more important than he actually is did something stupid...shocking. Daryl should send him to the farm; but he's only really playing sporadically so nobody will really know if it's because of this incident or because he's a marginal NHL hockey player at best.

According to several sources - including TSN and the Calgary Herald - the deal had been in the works for weeks. Calgary gets older - with Kostopoulos - who is another Sutter type mucker and Anton Babchuk - a defenceman with unrealized potential. Sound familiar?

We're currently 5 weeks into the season... Ian White just started playing under this contract at that time... if this deal has been talked about for weeks, it was probably in passing and laughed off, until Calgary started sucking so badly, and this Sutter incident pushed it over the edge.
Pretty ballsy by daddy, though who knows - maybe ownership made him do it.
