Another one bites the dust...

Trading Rogie in for Macallan eh-very nice.
Still collecting cards but have also been collecting Scotch now for about 3 years-my dad is still the Glenlivet Canada Ambassador but I have broadened my horizons with Scapa, Macallan's (age statement only) Glenmorangie's, Clynelish and some fancy Chivas Regal's. If its Speyside or Highlands I'm a fan.
Scotch is a great hobby and one of the few places a collection can go WAY up in value in a short period of time...if you don't drink it!
All the best Bruce-I met the Vancouver Glenlivet Ambassador Keith-you should get him to do a tasting in your pub (he's located in Yaletown).
He'll most likely be at the Whisky show in Victoria next week with a few of the bigwigs from Scotland who will also be in attendance.

Hey Chris,

I'm definitely a Speyside/Highlands guy too. Really liking the Glen Elgin, but dabble in some others. With collecting, only have a few so far, including the Devil's Punch Bowl I & III (missed on II) which have faired very well, plus I have a Port Ellen 35yo tucked away ;) Sitting on a Laphroaig Cairdeas 200th and a Highland Park Dark Origins to see if they increase in value. We'll see.

Not sure we can do the whisky fest this weekend, but will touch base with Keith. Your dad forwarded me the contact info for him so I'll see what we can sort out. Thanks!

Port Ellen 35 would be the equivalent of a top notch UD the Cup 3 Color RPA.
Very nice indeed!
I've have some single cask editions from Glenlivet (Tomnabat Hill and Squadron 70) put away along with Multiple Bottles of Macallan 18, 15, 12 and 10. I must admit the 15 yr is my go to so I am constantly replenishing when I travel in the States. Damn Canadian dollar is hurting this hobby too!
Macallan age statement bottles seem to appreciate about 15-20% annually, based on what they are selling for now-not bad. Considering they will be gone in the next few years its a sound investment...if you can find them and keep them closed.
I was fortunate enough to attend a special Macallan event in Toronto and try the Rare Cask (don't bother) Reflexion, #6 and the M. The latter 2 are exceptional.
Good luck with the hunt.

Hi Bruce,
It's good to see you still lurking once in a while. Plmk if you ever plan to eBay your Level 2 Inkredible autos or have some reasonable Cdn dollar prices in mind. I know you had quite a few of these and I am still slowly picking away at the set and I have most of the big names already. If I ever make it out that way, I will surely check out the pub. All the best in your new endeavors.

Hey Terry,

Just sitting on a Rocket Richard (or 2) and a Tretiak I think right now. You need? Not sure they will be reasonable though ;) With the $US so strong, I will likely list them on eBay shortly. If you're interested, throw me a good offer and let's see if we can do something!
