I am going to be receiving in the mail a card graded a BGS 9...and am considering taking it out and sending into PSA. I know PSA doesn’t provide with the sub grades. Though I’m not sure how important that is to collectors...

Has anyone ever done something like this? If so what was the graded company you broke the card out of and who did you send it to to get graded?

Not really including in this ques of ones who broke card out because they just like RAW cards.

This has been done before.

However, sub grades can be pretty important if you’re looking to sell. I may lean towards keeping it in the BGS holder unless you’re super confident the card can get a PSA 10.

What card is it?

Sorry if there was already a thread done like this before...

The card is a basketball card of
Giannis Antetokounmpo - it’s his 1913-14 Prizm rc graded a BGS 9
with sub-grades of 9.5, 10, 10, 8.5

He’s one of the top players in the NBA right now.

From what I gather PSA seems more lenient on centering and tougher on corners, where BGS is the other way around.

Which aspect of the card is graded 8.5? It might be enough to prevent a PSA 10 either way.

Centring 9.5
Corners 10
Edges 10
Surface 8.5

Oh no, I just meant the practice of breaking a card out of it's casing and re-submitting it somewhere else has been done before. No worries here!
