It has been a few years since I have been involved in the hobby. I missed it. But I do have good news for you... I'm Back!
Some news:
I spent last year watching my beloved Bruins do something they hadn't done in a long time. I think y'all did as well. They won the Stanley Cup. It was great! I guess I should back up a bit. I am engaged to a beautiful woman (have been for several years now) and her NOW seven year old son is a huge hockey fan. I wonder who did that to him? LOL Anyway, we play street hockey and watched the games. This year is more of the same. He now plays ice hockey and is doing well. I introduced him to card collecting this fall and he loves it. He is always looking for Bruins. His favorite player is Tim Thomas. Right now his collection is mostly Victory and OPC but I did bust a box of Artifacts and donated the proceeds to his collection. He is quite happy with the way it is growing. Every now and then we grab some cards from Target blaster boxes or those random crap boxes. BTW, I think I am going to do us all a favor and offer $10/ton on the ProSet cards. He got several packs from that random crap box. I was actually surprised to see them still. But I guess we will keep seeing them until someone does buy them by the ton and has a bonfire or something. They did print some cards back then. Boy, did they print some cards. LOL
In the coming months I hope to start sorting my cards and will hopefully be able to complete that Parkhurst Retro set I started on a while back and get rid of my Thornton and Samsonov cards to any sucker, er, collector that wants them. Be patient. When I am ready I will post. I will also be helping the little guy get cards he wants and bust a bunch to see what we get. We will be staying mostly in the wading area of the pool. The highest end for us may be Black Diamond as that has always been a favorite of mine.
As I get back in the hobby is there anything I need to be aware of? Being a low-end collector is not going to get us many or any high end cards and we're ok with that.
