Archie getting married....

That's actually great arc to start with an issue like #600.

(For some reason it sounds weird to me to think of Archie having an arc.)

Weird...as a fanatical Archie comic reader as a kid, I can tell you all this I remember from back in the day:

-They did a "Who will Archie finally choose?" arc they built up to in the comics for months and it ended up being Archie choosing Veronica as a prom date, losing her and ending up dancing with Betty at the Pop Tate's.

-They did a Betty's Diary thing in the future where at a high school reunion in the future, she was married to Archie who couldn't attend because he had to babysit the kids.

-They did a "15 years later" movie about 20 years ago with Lauren Holly and Christopher Rich where Archie had actually left Riverdale, became a lawyer and was engaged to someone else completely.

They've done all this before, and in typical Archie storyline fashion, it actually wouldn't surprise me that the whole thing ends up being like...Hot Dog's dream sequence.

I read that it is a future story and that there will be 2 different stories, a "what if" type story. One story will be what it would be like if Archie married Betty and the other if he married Veronica. Regardless it will be a fun read.

Point of order: Archie isn't MARRYING anyone. Yet. He's proposing. Difference. Even odds that this is just a sales stunt. And before you disagree: Death of Superman. Knightfall. Crisis on Infinite Earths. Mutant Massacre. And so on.

Its the 600th issue, they are trying to sell the books. Obviously Archie is not getting married, it will be a dream or future type storyline.
