DETROIT -- The Detroit Pistons acquired point guard Carlos Arroyo from Utah on Friday in a trade that sent center Elden Campbell and a first-round pick after 2006 to the Jazz.

very nice backup adds needed depth

Looks like a good deal for both team. Pistons have a deep core of a big men and could use depth at guard. Jazz get a first rounder, albeit a late first rounder and some help at PF/C.

Sounds like a very good deal for both sides, Darko may actually see more minutes now, they add depth behind Rip and Billups and the Jazz pickup a decent big man. Very even deal, which is rare it seems.

Ok so Arroyo wants more playing time so he shifts his business to the defending champs who already have Billups and Lindsey Hunter as their rotation PG's? Am I the only one who fails to see the logic here?

they moved a big man because darko was crying to get traded because of the lack of playing time
Pistons also want Hunter to play a lot less minutes per game.
I dont think the Jazz are complaining they got a #1 pick and a servicable vet

Actually Hunter plays a lot of sg as well as pg because the pistons really don’t have a back up sg (because Delfino is on il) so I don’t think it will be a big difference... I bet Hunter will play sg even though he is shorter because he makes up for it with his D.

I fell this is a pretty good trade for the pistons because I have not seen Elden Campbell at all this season and the pick is going to be in the late 20's anyways. And the pistons really need some scoring off the bench.

The trade was basically Arroyo for the pick.
The Jazz will put Elden Campbell on waivers.
I cannot see Arroyo helping much, he was benched because he would
bring the ball up, dribble the clock down and jack up a shot, not looking to
pass the ball.
He cannot or will not play defense.
I think he got a big head from his fans, and the olympics, that he was the "go-to guy"
I really liked Carlos, and wish him luck, but he needs to check his attitude.

someone said Arroyo wanted playing time, which is very true... however the Jazz can trade him wherever he wants. This ****s hardcore because Arroyo was a great auto to get and now i won't see him every home game!!!
