Asked for a replacement today.....

I called up customer service after i sent two e-mails in the past 3 weeks(one 3 weeks ago and 1 two weeks ago) and i didn't recieve a reply so i called and i was put on hold for 15 minutes....the card that i'm replacing is:

MIKE CAMMALLERI
2007-08 SP GAME USED HOCKEY LETTER MARKS VARIED # ING CD# LM-MC

so it's been a year and a half since i first redeemed it so i gave up hope

I told him my list:
1.Dominik Hasek
2.Ilya Kovalchuk
3.Zach Bogosian
4.Dan Cleary
5.Red Wings
6.Thrashers

most of the names he couldn't spell and when i told him dan cleary he asked if i said DAN CHERRY.....anybody heard of dan cherry?

so in all i now have a replacement request and it should arrive soon

just wondering did anyone else have this type of experience where the reps don't really know names of players? And how long does it usually take once you put in a request...? And what do you guys think i will recieve?

Most of the customer service people are probably familiar with other sports more than others, I know if I had to deal with someone about a basketball or football card I wouldn't know the names either. I wouldn't expect them to be intimately familiar with every athlete UD works with, but I think it would be nice to deal with someone who knows your sport :)
 
They did a solid job on my Corey Perry Ice Scripts. I gave them my want list and they gave me a comparable replacement of a guy I'd asked for. Good luck to you.
 
You didn't ask for the usual requested replacements - so that would lead me to think you'll get a decent, if not better replacement - at least that's what my previous experience tells me
 
the status had changed from asked for replacement to shipped as of 9/14/09...how long does it usually take for it to ship?

Anywhere from today to 6 weeks from now. The usual turnaround attempt is 30 days, but my last request took something like 6 weeks to fulfill, where the card wasn't shipped until the 5th week after they said it had been shipped. Look at your rollover date (today) as the day that your replacement cycle has started.
 
I had great luck with my last replacement. I replaced a Tuukka Rask Sweet Beginnings Auto/Jersey/100 and got a Backstrom Rookie Gems and Kovalchuk Scoring Kings Auto/Jersey/20. To be honest, I have always had good luck with them(knocks wood)
 
I have never had any problems with the replacement/redemption program but a year and half is just ridiculous! They need Barry Sicherman back. He was the only person I dealt with there and he was always quick and spot on with my requests..

Agreed!!! By far the biggest mistake UD made in their restructuring and move. Barry was hands down better then the entire crew combined that they have there now answering phones now.
 
I recall my first issue with a replacement. I believe I was shorted something in a box and Barry took the time and effort to explain what I needed to do in order to get something in return. In all my other dealings with replacements and redemptions he always replied to all my emails and dealt with me in a very friendly matter. My last replacement issue was almost two years ago and it had to do with some SPX basketball I busted, but I explained to him that I had busted tons of wax in the past and again he sent me a customer package just to be nice. Question is, where is the love at???
