Hey guys,
Was wondering about your thoughts on this subject. I was originally holding off on buying more of his RC's with hopes of getting them cheaper. I'm starting to think that won't be the case and if it does, it won't be anytime soon.

It's an interesting case because there isn't many past rookies to compare him too. (Hobby wise) There aren't many franchise players to get drafted by a massive market like Toronto and to have as much hype right from the start. Us leafs fans have been starving for a player of this calibre to come along and his prices reflect that. His market still seems to be really strong and his cards are still selling well. How long do you think it'll last?

His cards will only go up. After he wins the Rookie of the Year his Young Gun will top $300 I think.

I don't think i have EVER seen a rookie spike from the player winning a Calder...like EVER! By that point, the season is over, and prices in general for everyone drop a bit.

I'd say the summer is your best bet like penfield said. But I don't see a big drop any time soon. Matthews or the Leafs would have to have a take a step backwards in individual or team success before his prices come down significantly. I think a Calder Trophy win is already presumed and built into the price of his cards now.

I was kind of hoping for an e-card supply glut to drive the price down on his YG on comc.com but it didn't materialize.
