Been awhile, but here is what I was talking about

A while back someone started a thread about having the same serial number on your cards, well at the time this was what I said

Well anyway haven't been doing much other than comig here and marking the forums read, but today whilst it snows outside I'm starting to get more into a hockey mood. Plus I just made my first trade since May.

So here it is, cards I have with the same serial number:

02-03 Parkhurst Retro

9/50 - The hand written one is a replacement card that I sent in(the orignal had 5/95 centering) Despite my volunterring to pay to get a stamped version this is all they would do for me.

03-04 Parkhurst Rookie

Never really tried too hard for these, missed quite a few.

03-04 SP Authentic

plus these autos

Only missed Hudler and Bergeron that I know of. Missed Hudler because I forgot to bid, Missed Bergeron because it went for $70(I never even bid on it)

And the Staal SPA isn't the only Staal with that number

Plus I've got 6 Staal's serialed 28/xx

So as I was saying I know something about it

You're talking to me about strange collections?

As has been pointed out the 28 does go with my birthday which is my favorite number. The 228 part comes from the first serial numbered card I ever pulled - Pascal Leclaire Parkhurst Retro 228/300. I thought it was great to pull a number that I liked, even if it had an extra 2 at the start.

And while some people are calling me crazy and asking if I eat paint chips(yum), is collecting a number I like any different than collecting jersey number matches? And I'll say this, It was a heck of a lot easier collecting a number I liked since I didn't have to pay the 1/1 jersey match premium.
