I would like to think we can discuss the signing of Todd Bertuzzi without bringing up the Moore incident. We all know it was brutal, and have our opinions based on what we saw, some with a bit better insight based on who you know or experience. Let's just talk about the signing.
I wanted to comment on Orca_Pods statement, of Bertuzzi being well regarded by teammates and the NHL.
I couldn't disagree more. Bertuzzi is rude, self-centered and a polarizing force. That is not good for a team or the league.
I spent a game with/follwing Kelly Hrudey around, and he is THE nicest guy in the world. He also spends alot of time covering Canucks games. Hrudey had decent things to say about every guy, but his comments about Bertuzzi were amazingly brutal.
I do not know why the Flames would want a guy like this on their team, when so many other players would be a better fit. I guess Keenan may have an association with him, and maybe thats what they are betting on.
