Best (cheapest) way to ship sticks?

I get the heavy duty cardboard poster tubes from Office Depot, Staples, etc, the round tubes that are 6" around. I cut two of them at an angle for the blade, wrap the stick in a couple layers of the small bubble wrap, and tape the tubes together. Heavy duty packing tape wrapped a couple times around where the tubes go together and you are good. UPS seems to be cheaper then the USPS on sticks in my experience, the USPS dings you big time for oversize/odd shape packages. Good luck.

I've shipped and received lots of sticks. Best way I've found is to use FedEx (FedEx Home Delivery service - usually cheaper than USPS) and tape the sticks together (if sending more than one) and then run a layer of bubble wrap around the whole thing so its protected (double layer around the blade and where the blade attaches to the shaft). Doing this typically avoids some of the up-charges shipping companies add on and the bubble wrap does a great job protecting the sticks. And, always insure the package to the full sale/trade value.
