Was tipped off by an anonymous member that something curious was in the new issue of Beckett Hockey. I didn't get my subscription copy, so I asked my brother to pick one up for me at the shop. After being ridiculed by him for quite a while, he finally gave me the issue to show me this. . .

Here is the set for those of you that don't recall. . .

Granted, this is "old news" to the regulars around here... the set was finished in July... but this is still pretty exciting to see in print. I only have two small pet peeves with this:

1. Article was edited to remove all references to help outside of Beckett
2. Didn't include my e-mail address!

The latter is more disappointing. I was hoping that the mention of my International Experience set project would help flush out a Yashin. :(

Thanks for looking. . . please drive safely! :D

PS: No glasses, CJ. :p

PS2: Before anyone asks... I only recognized one of this issue's sweet swatches which is a Blackburn dual emblem belonging to Richter35 (Eileen). :)

Who's That Dork?? Jk :) Looking Like A Model Selling The Vintage Auto Set, You Should Be A Model For Itgu! Nice Job!

Guess when you get your picture in Beckett, that means you've hit the big time. We are not worthy.

John

LOL. You're worthy, you're worthy. :D I'll even sign a copy for you TTM if you want. ;)

Mark - Did you have to ask for the free copies? I mean, you got a 3 page spread... mine is a 1/4 page. :D

That's pretty sweet dude! I mean, look at your cool monitor, black! how early 00's! :D

Awesome set.
You have got to love vintage auto's of HOF'ers.
That's funny they edited out everything non beckett.
Not suprising, but funny.

Hey... that's a nice 17" flat panel from Dell... circa 2003. :)

You're other comments are on target.

mmmmm flat panel
been wishing for one of those for a long time, but, not until this CRT goes down in a blazing ball of fire.

But that's enough OT for this thread ;)

Sweet! I wonder why it took them half a year to print it? As you said, better late than never. Congrats!

Congrats on the write up! It may have taken a while since space is a little more limited with fewer issues coming out, and it's a too bad they didn't allow the outside Beckett references in the mag - I understand it as a business decision, but still would have been nice to see others get the props they deserved.

As for not providing your email address, I wouldn't worry too much - if someone has it they'll likely contact the hockeymag addy and ask how they can get in touch with you.

I'd have to agree. The no glasses are an improvement over the last pic that you posted from the Blueshirts Cup win!

Congrats on making it to the Big Time! :D Even though it took half a year!

Jay, Congrats on making it into beckett!!! Nice story, even though they edited it. LOL. I guess you are "big time" now. Mike

Looks a little bit like my writeup, diff colors though. Ever think about makeing that ur avatar? Take a look to the left, theres how mine turned out. Saw where u said Beckett edited yours. They did the exact same thing to me, and also caught me off-guard, by featuring me. Didnt email me or nothing, recieved a call from a freind who discovered it. Anyway Congrats
