Hi everyone
I wanted to quickly give everyone a heads up in case you are considering bidding on the following eBay auction:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1999-00-UD-Ultimate-Victory-Legendary-Fabrics-Gretzky-Orr-Auto-Jersey-4-10-RARE-/263075081669?hash=item3d407f2dc5%3Ag%3AdHMAAOSwceNZXlqR

This image is from an Upper Deck Blog post from a few years ago. I still own all three of these Gretzky cards. I have alerted eBay to the issue, so hopefully they take action soon, but if everyone could spread the word (especially if you know someone interested in bidding on the auction), I would appreciate it.

Thanks everyone!

I love that. Awesome. And good on you for the global heads up.

If I bid, will you accept the final total and send me the cards upon payment? Obviously you'll get the money, I get the cards, and the seller gets nothing.

And then at least you'll know what they're worth on the open market. :D

DUDE, I bought those three cards of that same scammer. Dude mails me a box of a bunch of gretzky BASE cards. Did paypal claim, etc. Got money back. Ebay said they were going after him. He may be on a different user name now. His name is Craig Payne so it's the same guy. I might still have some of the info somewhere.

His response:
Lol what a joke you are the 3rd person I had to tell that you are full of **** since I listed this EVERYONE has a friend that owns them. I am sitting here looking at them on my shelve right now. joke

My Response to the ebay CLOWN!

Wow..that is CRAZY...especially since you DON'T OWN ANY OF THE CARDS IN the PICTURE...but a collecting friend of mine DOES!

But don't worry, you have already been reported to eBay by many users...CONGRATS!

Hello, I just had an offer of $700 US for all 3 cards I was not planning on selling the other 2 but I would let them go for $550 if I'm saving on Ebay fees. Thanks

Hello

Nice Gretzky's! Interested in the Gretzky/Orr and also the Rangers Auto...what is your best $$ for the 2?

Thx

His name is Craig H. Payne. Do you notice he changed his location on the gretzky item vs. his other ebay item? He lives in Trenton, Michigan. Not Minnesota like the auction states.

Why doesn't someone call him out and ask him to take a picture of them with a local paper or something specific he would not be able to reproduce?

Similar thought, though I opted for honey rather than vinegar: I sent a very pleasant message this morning asking for a closer scan and one of the back as well, since I have great interest in bidding on this card and would bid aggressively depending on condition. No response.

Just a thought. Could this be done????

Get two people here to start a "bidding war" on this lot. Lets be fun and run this total up to 100k. Doesnt he get his with an ebay fee for the sale? I mean granted he would never get paid but it would jam him up to the tune of 10k roughly.

He used to go by: majorpayne

ahh that's right. Man what a piece of crap. I had to put a $1,000 paypal claim in on that guy a year or two ago. What a fiasco. He sent a box of base cards with signature confirmation, probably thinking since I signed for the package he would be covered. Then he realized he probably wouldn't be so he "refunded" the $1,000, but didn't have it in his account (no surprise) so I didn't get the refund. So he had that planned obviously. Eventually Paypal got a hold of his bank, and they took the money from him. Now he's up to the same quick cash scheme, again. I'm not sure what you get out of this besides quick cash. The money will be returned regardless, so...
