Long story short, I almost got duped on this one. DO NOT BID. Tell your friends who have bid to cancel their bids. collecting_ovechkin is a known Kenny ID, and this is yet more proof that he's a liar and card faker.

Both the serial number and the auto match exactly.

The counterfeit card has resurfaced in this eBay item:

I have contacted the seller and am awaiting his response. He is not the original "Kenny" ID, and I believe it was him who outbid me on the other 3clr he's selling when it came on ebay. I have not researched the other one he's selling, but the top card in the scan is the counterfeit #0425.

How do they do this? Is the card somehow split in half? I don't see how he could get that new piece in there without hacking up the border around it.
 
Just as lost as Norfolk. Is this it:

He won the $20.50 auction
He unslabbed it
He replaced the swatch
He now lists this new and improved sweet swatch card

The worst part is there are so many people trying to do a multicolor set from that year that it will still go hi. If I remember correctly Lundqvist was impossible to find in even a 2 color.

Mike - why would you quesiton any multi-color for Hank? Have there been other forgeries? Or no confirmed multis from UD?

I'm always after the best possibnle patch for every card, and 3clr on this card would be the way to go...it's been on my wantlist for a while...

If you can elaborate a bit more, or if anyone else has any thoughts, please let me know.

And, yes the card is down from ebay - that means either he took it down, ebay took it down (I did report ther item as counterfeit), or he worked another side deal.

As you know I collected Hank VERY aggressively for a few years starting his Rookie Season. Right after release of SPx there were ZERO multi-color copies to surface on eBay within the first year or so... Only after all this nonsense occurred with Kenny and others did I start to see multi-colored swatches of this card start to surface. Because of these factors, I would personally NOT pay a premium for a multi-colored card from this particular set. Actually, I wouldn't pick one up period thinking it was almost certainly a fake.

that's interesting. i definitely value your opinion and am with mixed feelings as i'm one of the few to actually own one. i know i bought it off ebay from a source that had nothing to do with kenny and this was back when they were ridiculously harder to come by (not the 2-3 you see on ebay at the same time now a days but the 1 in 2 years). i've never really had a reason to believe it was a fake before because i've also passed up on a 2-clr spectrum (also the only multi color i've seen) and figured they were just that rare. wish UD could confirm this.

I had and sold one the week the product was released. :offtopic:

Kenny's a dirtbag, plain and simple.
 
It was a 3 color and if you rotated Kenny's swatch exactly 180 degrees, that's what she looked like.

That scan is LONG gone... the computer the scan WAS on died 3 years ago in the move to the flatland...

And I did pull it from a pack. I did 2 boxes on release day - that was in one, and a 2 color Phaneuf was in the other. Got real good coin on both at the time too.

It was the same day Frank did 67 boxes trying to hit a Crosby and then watched Hans open ONE and hit it. Sorry Frank.
