Thanks for reading,

Cool stuff, I like the Satan Electric Ice the most. I still like those parallels, especially the other years when the electric ice was shinny :)

Very nice, I have always wondered how much does it cost to get cards graded?

Hey Scott, it depends... I sent my first order in a month ago. It was 18 cards with a 10 day turn around. Total cost with shipping and grading was approximately $21.50 per card ( I always calculate on a per card basis). It can be made cheaper by sending more cards and choosing a longer turnaround time. The order I sent in was all very high end stuff though so it is easy to recoup the cost when one thinks of potential sale value added. I would say I easily added 25 percent value. Just be honest with yourself before you send, inspect the cards very very carefully before sending, if you're looking for a high grade and its got a slight imperfection on a corner its probably better to keep it raw. However, if you are looking for a certain grade you can mark it "minimum grade 9" and if the card is a 8.5 they send it back raw, charge you a $7.50 reviewing fee and give you an explanation of why it didnt make the 9 grade.

Hope this answers your question....see ya at the next break. Lol

Thanks for the comments, especially SimonJa great explanation !

For this order I knew that there was going to be a BGS booth at an upcoming cardshow.
I plucked a few gems from my binders and went with the longest time frame grading service option.
With the return shipping fee included, it comes out to $11.85 per grade for this batch.
I think its alright if you can wait the long time for the review process.

Where on the form is the keep it raw option? Sounds very compelling

Thanks for the explanation on that. So you really should only be submitting high grade cards unless it is very vintage.

I was always wanting to get my Roy RC's graded but they are not the best condition wise so might not make sense to do so.

Value wise I'd say yes, but then thats just my opinion. It comes down to personal preference... if you submit a card and it comes back an 8.5 do you like it less? For me, the answer is yes (unless its a totally sick card) but Im a stickler for condition. For me its also a security blanket... Once its slabbed thats the condition it remains in permanently. Ill go out and buy 2 or 3 cards, have them graded then sell the lesser grades.

As for the mininmum grade question, I havent personally done it but I guess you just write down the minimum grade you want achieved on the same line as the card on the submission form.

I hear ya on the ROY, I bought one graded a 10 (mint or better) by BCCG that I really want to get regraded by BGS and will use the minimum grade approach but because on of the edges is rough due to the cut Im a little hesitant.

So just got an email back....For raw cards just put a post it note on the card with the minimum grade, if itbdoes not reach that grade it will be sent back raw, but you will be charged the full grading fee for that card as it is still being completely looked at.

To bad the Stevens has bad centering or that would have come back 9 or 9.5
The Kurri has really bad centering I would not have sent that one in but an 8 is still a decent grade for an early 80's card.
