Just got an email from Steve Charendoff, the owner of Rittenhouse Archives, about the new James Bond set that was due in April. The product information hit their website today, but we noticed the date moved back to the end of May. Steve and I have had several confidential discussions over the past month, but advised me that I can now "spill the beans".
Rick Yune, the bald, diamond-encrusted villain from Die Another Day will be added to the new Bond: Heroes & Villains set! Steve eluded to this at the Expo when Mike and I discussed the set with him, but it isn't actually detailed on the website yet. Very cool addition.
Okay... that isn't the big news...
This week he received the agreement back from current Bond actor, Daniel Craig, to sign cards for Rittenhouse! The delay is to ensure some Craig cards (not sure if it's Full Bleed or 40th Anniversary Style yet) will be included in the upcoming set! Along with Roger Moore & George Lazenby, Craig is the only other Bond actor to sign for Rittenhouse. Although Steve continues to court Connery, Brosnan and Dalton, no advancement has been made. It was thought that Dalton was ticked at being replaced by Brosnan, but he recently took part in some Bond festivities. Who knows... Dalton may be added in a future set!
