I gotta debate the "market around him similar to Brock" comment.
Lashley came around when the "everybody must watch pro wrestling" fad was dying or dead and so I don't think he comes with nearly the same fanfare, simply because a majority of those fans that rode the wrestling fad when Brock was champion had moved onto MMA by then.
Lashley vs. Fedor might work out as a long term marketing vehicle, though obviously, I think we can all agree it won't reach the stratosphere of PPV buys Randy/Brock did since there aren't similar emotional fan attachments in the hundreds of thousands like Captain America and the Next Big Thing.
I don't think injuries are ever fortunate, but I think it's somewhat good in this case that Fedor can't fight till next summer so that Scott Coker can properly assess how and when to do it should Lashley continue to prove his worth in MMA like he's doing right now.
