Sunday, November 19th, 10 AM to 3 PM

Admission $7.00 (Kids 12 & under FREE)
*Two day pass $12.00
*Admission includes a free autograph ticket to meet & get an autograph
with Vancouver Canuck legend ‘Captain’ Kirk McLean (Saturday)

Jake Virtanen was announced as a Sunday guest but due to a change in flight plans, he's cancelled. New guest to be announced soon according to the website.

Honestly, with $7 admission - I'm thinking of passing on both days.
 
Might go on Saturday if the weather is okay. Probably only to buy supplies. I spent all my money on Astros World Series merchandise. Maybe I'll see a box and get tempted.
 
If there’s no Stanley Cup winner signing autographs, I think I’ll spend the weekend getting a head start on some Christmas shopping... probably be back to the Bonsor early in the new year to see y’all.

I'm sure the show promoter is interested in the hobby and running the best show possible. I'm fairly confident in guessing that he's not making huge money running the show.

My issue with the show is the lack of new (or good) dealers. Numerous dealers have had the same cards at the same price for the last decade and very rarely add new material to their selection. I can usually skip whole rows as I know the dealers won't have anything new or won't have anything priced well enough to look at.

I don't know if any "new" people/dealers have any interest in setting up, so the old tired people are the only ones willing to take table(s). If so, that's a shame.

I don't know if people can't justify the price of the table and their time because they aren't able to sell enough to make back table costs. If so, that's a shame.

I am greatly aware the hobby is changing and box costs are constantly increasing with similar or smaller returns but the show lost something when Bruce (Not HI's Bruce) passed away which must have been 8-10 years ago. Bruce was always there with singles from new product with fair pricing and with the changes in the hobby, that's very difficult to do. I had many great conversations with him and he always was smiling and willing to talk.

I even enjoy going strictly to catch up with HI friends and catch up but in this thread, I've had 3 friends who I'd usually chat with for 20-30 minutes at the show confirm they are likely to pass.

I rarely attend anymore since the admission went to 5 bucks. I'm definitely not going with the admission at 7 bucks.

I know Jeremy doesn't like us saying negative things about shows, but I can't justify the gas, travel time, and 7 bucks just to see the same dealers with the same stuff, month-in, month-out.

So, Derek... guess you can hang on to the craptastic handful of UD Exclusives (and the Hutton) for another month. is that okay?

I'm going to go on Sunday! Hope to see some of you there! Got some great deals done last month. My Hutton collection is coming along nicely.

Yeah, that's cool. Gives me more time to grab some Bure stuff for you...

And I'll be set up at the show as per usual. Gonna put some stuff in showcases for this round. That way I can nap during the show. Just wake me up if you want to buy something...
 
I'm thinking about going to get an auto'd Phaneuf GU stick authenticated by JSA. But that weekend is super busy for me.

Since this is mainly for local guys, I thought I'd ask if anyone has extra Tim Horton's base. My older son is a little interested again, after we bought some packs for him to open.

So... what that says to me is:

We're going to charge you $2 extra to enter the show even if you have absolutely no desire to see/meet/pay for an autograph/photo from Kirk McLean.

And the promoter wonders why attendance is down and 'show regulars' don't come as often as they used to.
