NOT Allowed to Trade!
So now that I'm in Michigan, I went to my favorite shop up here called J&J Sports Cards. I got a box of Black Diamond, 5 packs of UDS2 and a pack of Razor signature baseball. I have alot of good and bad things to say so be prepared for a long read. Sorry, no scans at the moment as I'm on vacation.
Starting with the packs. I'm guarenteed an autograph prospect in every pack of Razor, for 7 bucks, what the hell. My autograph was Che-Hsuan Lin /1499. Not very eventful, and unfortunately this starts a trend. A hard signed auto, can't complain.
UDS2 was interesting, just like my 5 packs of UDS1 I got this year, no inserts... Strange. I got victory base of Avery, Streit and Zidlicky as well as a victory rookie of Sutter and a gold Victory base of Zidlicky. Great coalation. I also got half the young guns in the box which wasn't anything to complain about. However, John Curry, Karl Alzner and Brian Boyle aren't anything to jump up and down about either.
Now Black Diamond. Again, the first time I'm touching this stuff. I wasn't very impressed.
First off, card quality was terrible, most card seemed to have some kind of bending or chipping going on, nothing severe, but definitely noticable. Another thing I don't like is that you have to scrutinize every single base to check if they're a stupid double or triple diamond with nothing else to signify that they were a double or triple diamond.
Here are my double and triple <>
Double <>:
Erik Johnson
Martin Biron
Derek Roy
Cam Ward
Alex Frolov
Peter Mueller
Triple <>:
JS GIguere
Marian Hossa
Dion Phaneuf
Rookie Gems:
Erik Ersberg
Luca Sbisa
Nikolai Kulemin
My quad was James Neal.
Again, nothing good, nothing that terrible. Very uneventful.
My quad base was Gordie Howe
Also got a ruby single diamond of Andy McDonald. Probably one of the worst I could have gotten.
I got a 1, 2 , and 3 dimamond premier cuts cards. 1 was Henrik Sedin. 2 was Eric Staal and 3 was Patrick Kane. I have to admit, the design on these were very appealing and probably the only thing in the box that might make me want to go back for more.
My jerseys weren't anyone great but they both pretty interesting. First one was Doug Weight, 3 navy and a blue. This was one of those classic "Pictured with the Ducks, says he's on the islanders and the back says the jerrsey was from a Blues game.
My second jersey was of Paul Kariya and I must say, this is now my favorite jersey card I own and I whsh I could show a scan. It has 4 different materials and is 5 different colors. Top right is a yellow and black mesh. Top right is a white polyester type like on Habs jerseys. Bottom left is a silver jersey with the shiny material striped like on Pens jerseys. Bottom right was a typical materialed navy color.
So yeah, not as exciting as my past breaks but I have the cup to break on Wednesday which I know will be more exciting. Th
Thanks for looking. Comments appreciated.
