Brian Burke joining Penguins as president of hockey operations

Long-time NHL executive and Sportsnet broadcaster Brian Burke is joining the Pittsburgh Penguins as president of hockey operations.

Burke joins the Penguins alongside new general manager Ron Hextall, who replaces Jim Rutherford after the latter stepped away from the role in January.

Interesting... I'll miss Burkie on Sportsnet... But anyone who takes that job (President/ GM) is in a tough spot... Pittsburgh is going to have to dismantle in the next 4 or 5 years... and they are not going to be very good in comparison to what they were.

And with a tandem of Hextall and Burke, I'm guessing truculence is on the menu... lol
