Bunch of Golden Glory cut from UFC and Strikeforce!

Per a tweet this morning from Ariel Helwani via Martin De Jong of GG.

Jon Olav Einemo, Valentijn Overeem (Big deal) and Marloes Coenen (~!) have all been cut. Something ain't right in the water. Don't know what the deal is...This is shades of Jon Fitch **** all over again.

The only one that gives me pause is Coenen. It seems as though they may have been the unfortunate casualities of Alistair trying to balk at the Strikeforce tourney and jump over to the UFC (like Punky Diaz) and the UFC wanted none of it. And may be trying to freeze out the Golden Glory people. It is kind of like the AKA situation from a few years back, only now they've actually followed through and cut people.

Yeah, basically everybody from Golden Glory is off the books now except for Sergei Kharitonov, who Strikeforce needs right now in the tourney. I think Mousasi's deal has expired, and with Jardine dropping down to 185, I don't think the rematch Coker wanted will ever happen, so you might never see him again either in a Zuffa event.

I wonder if Topps had any of the Golden Glory fighters in their upcoming set, and if that will change now...I doubt it, but we'll have to see.

What a shame...this confirms Mousasi and Einemo (~!) won't be back as long as they're Team GG.

Don't care to be honest. I'd rather see Coenen and Einemo back than Overeem, and I'd rather see a moist towelette fight over Valentijn Overeem. I lost what little urge I had to see Alistair Overeem fight after the Werdum match.

but i am more interested in what kind of money overeem thinks he deserves and of course, if all things go well, i wonder who they will put him up against.
