OK, so I took it in the pooper on this case. Totally. One Ovechkin, a really crappy auto Rookie Threads, and that was it.

My bust was so crappy that I am wondering if perhaps I missed something. Are the HG #/10s easy to miss, or are they obvious? My wife busted half the case, so she might not have known what to look for. Are they thicker than the regular base cards?

I am not positive about this but last year were the HG one per case.I thought that they were more diffulcult to find. But yes they are easy to miss.I was just doing up some team bags for my doctor and found one in my singles from last year.As justin135 said they certainly do have a shine that can even be seen on the edge.So if you have a handfull of cards and there is one there the light will shine off it.Maybe you got a big one and missed it.That will help with your box braek.Did you do Hobby or Retail. Were they even in the retail??
TTL,Winston.

It was a hobby case. Thanks for your help, I will go look through my pile of turds and see if there is a diamond in there anywhere.

Edit - Just went through them again. Nothing. Man, I totally took it in the 'ol browneye today. Oh well. Seems to be just my luck these days. The only way to bust out of a rut is to ramp it up and bust even more.

Last year's HG were actually fairly easy to tell apart from the base cards, whereas this year's are nearly impossible unless you're looking right for it.

No HG and no plate makes that one rough break. Sorry to hear it!

The problem with UD Series 2 is that there was nothing guaranteed in a case. I opened at least 6 cases of it, and I got anywhere from 1-5 'hits' per case. One case would have 1 Ovechkin and a Majestic Materials, and the next would have 3 Ovechkins, a patch /15, a 1/1 press plate, an HG Glossy /10, a Majestic Materials /50, and a Auto Rookie Threads /75.

It looks like you got one of the weaker cases out there.

Derek's spot on. There were several "case hit" cards:
Victory Parallels (what a thrill they are to pull, lemme tell ya...)
Majestic Materials
Autographed Rookie Threads
Rookie Ink autographs
High Gloss
Press Plates
Patches

On average, you tended to hit three in a given case.

Let's just say there's a reason that this crap is available for less than $600/case.

Yeah. I should have gone with my gut and gotten Hot Prospects. Oh well, that's in the plans for this week. Hopefully that does better.

I have heard rumblings (can't confirm it, so it's at best hearsay) that a lot of this older wax is going to get blown out over the next couple weeks. It sounds as though UD or the distributors are trying to clear the deck before the new "storefronts only" wax policy comes into effect.
