Busting McFarlanes out!!! Thoughts??

Finally getting around to putting lots of shelving over my desk and wanted to break out the McFarlanes I own. Anyone else do this? Unless they are rare they arent going to gain any value and they have been under the stairs for years. Ill never sell them anyway and it really isn't worth my time to do it. So why not put them on display. Thoughts??

For the longest time I was resistant to breaking mine open but finally caved in and started to open a few. I am glad I did. They look 100% better out of the package and displayed. I still have some in the packages and, as you mentioned, the rare ones are better left alone, but overall I say go for it!

I agree. They were meant to be displayed and only some of the rare versions have any real appreciable value, so might as well enjoy!

If you're displaying them, I say bust them out. They would look 1000% more cooler.

Make sure to snap a pic once you display them all!

I wouldn't mind a custom Enroth figurine.... I've seen one and it looks awesome.

I have most of the maple leafs that have been produced and they are all sealed. The glue is starting to lift on some of them and one day I fear my two boys will have opened them all.

I've been busting out a few after years of keeping them in the package. Love having them out!

Definitely bust them out. Keeping them in the package is just for wanting to flip them. Still trying to put my man cave back together. Maybe so pics one day. I have a bunch of them.

bust em ya gotta dust em . i'm a no on this . i do have a few out that the kids got me and a custom that i got at the expo one year.

Been freeing mine from their packaging and putting them on shelves when i get them. So yeah...

Currently painting and moving around the man cave. SO..... currently I have every piece of memorabilia down. I demolished my card work station and started to build my own desk with lots of storage for one touches and binders. I may be weeks yet, but also plan to install several shelves above my desk for the mcfarlanes. When it is all said and done I will post more than enough pics to show off what it looks like. Stay tuned

The only ones I would break open would be the Bobby Orr (PC) ones since I have multiples of them to display in my man cave, future project.
On the subject of future project, I have 2 of the ice / half rink surfaces that I might assemble as ONE and use current or vintage opened figs as a table top display!
Since I use to order McFarlane figs by the cases with 25 - 30 cases in storage presently, I prefer to keep in their shell casing since I get the odd orders from a local flea market vendor.
Sadly miss the Expo vendor who had tables full on the autographed ones!
