Can anyone or a few of you suggest buyers to buy wax from at the expo?
Preferably HI members but only ask that you are given a honest seller who is not just passing off his excess after searching cases. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Pittsburgh Wholesalers (or something like that) usually sets up, and has great selection, and really good prices. I think every time I've bought wax at Expo (not that many times, but still), it's been from them.

Pittsburgh Wholesalers typically has the most "best" prices, while Grizzly has a ridiculous selection, but you pay to play, big time.

The big Blue tent is usually quite competitive. Surprises always pop up in every aisle. You are best to make a trip or two around the room, write down some of the prices, and then do the room again looking for the deals.

NEVER buy on your first trip around the room. You'll see prices that stand out as good; double back and make sure you didn't miss any better prices, and then buy.

Prices seem to drop throughout the day on Friday and Saturday, and there could be a huge discrepancy between dealers. In one rare occurance, I found Action Andrew actually selling a product lower than PGH wholesalers.

North of 7 usually has ITG products at a fairly competitive price, and he will usually lower if you find a better price.

Wax on Wheels occasionally has some deals. Ditto Stimpy's.

Most of my big pulls at the expos have come from PGH.

Always take your time and really look at prices, never settle for the couple tables you see. Make sure to write down tables and prices and you can always find your way back to them later on.

As has already been suggested here a couple of times, make the circuit before commiting to any one dealer. There are deals to be found if you just check everything out first and take notes.
Good luck and enjoy the show.
Dan.

the best price dosen't always equal the best product,i would gladly pay a couple of more dollars to know my box hasn't been tampered with,if someone does have wax real cheap buy conservatively until you have established that his product is clean, my recommendation is buy from a wholesaler who does not crack product himself.my favourite is wax on wheels

I've found that dealers throughout the Expo sell according to what the going rate is (which is most often BELOW wholesale). The ones who didn't bring an enema are the ones who put their boxes away for later sales. You'll find severe bargains throughout the show.

Wax on Wheels (as mentioned above) is about as trusted as I can offer. Steve Longo is very damn cool and will often cut you deals when he really doesn't have to.

We have a decent selection of wax. Also, one of the few dealers that you can trade your high end cards for wax. Our rates are competitive with show rates on most, have the best rates on a few ie 08 SPGU and always try to give HIers a deal.

I can vouch for it. I traded a Gilmour Emblems of Endorsement for a pack of Ultimate last year.

Again, look around the place. You can NEVER know if it was searched or not. Even if they open a case in front of you, they could be opening the side they didn't cut into, so the best indicator is if they sell singles or not. Other than that, I don't know what else you can do.

I will personally be looking for the 07-08 Cup Kostitsyn RC (if I haven't found it yet by the end of the month). So if it's not on a dealer's table, I will have to start looking in tins. At that point I doubt it makes a big difference where the tin came from as long as it was not resealed. Although I wouldn't be surprised if someone opened the 1/1, thought it was junk and put it into a pack thinking they would make more money selling a resealed cup tin.

The real question becomes, who takes credit card? I know last year there was one table selling wax that did. Hope there are more like that because I'm unfortunately not confident enough to carry that much cash.

Never buy from the first dealer you see.
I remember one baseball product with three different sellers and the price ranged from $125 up to $270.

There's several dealers from whom I would cheerfully buy wax, most of which have been mentioned above.

However, I still miss Stuart from Florida. He was AWESOME.
