Well hey there kids. Thought I'd drop in and say hello after such a long time away.

Some of you don't even know me. That's okay. I used to own this joint for a few years, and was pretty deep in the hobby for awhile. Alas, life catches up to you at times and you need to make decisions in the best interest of your personal life, and a site like this specifically. All in all, it's been pretty good the last while.

For those who do know me, hi! I'm still picking up the odd Richard Brodeur piece and, if I ever see one or Kevin tells me about something cool, even a Harold Snepsts one. The Paul Henderson collection is pretty stagnant, although there are a couple of Leaf Metal cards I'm missing. Vachon is gone, and eventually a whole pile of other cards will be too. Didn't realize how much of a hoarder I was ;)

I've started dabbling in silver coins and scotch over the past year or two. That's been fun, and at times expensive! It's cool to see how other collectibles have become investments as well. Worth checking out if you haven't... and if you have, let's chat about them! Always love talking collectibles!

My biggest change was the purchase of a pub not far from my house on Vancouver Island. It's called The Lion Rampant Scottish Pub and it's truly the only Scottish pub east of Toronto. So get your butts over here and let's have a dram of scotch and talk hockey cards! The invite is open. To date, only two HIers have been here - kmitchel and langway05 - so that's pretty poor attendance so far (although it was VERY cool to see those two guys!).

Otherwise, hope the rest of you are doing well. I'm not around here much, but you can always send me a note on Facebook or, if you have my number, send me a text. Take care all!

Bruce (old owner)

P.S. It's still kinda weird that I don't own the place anymore. Hmmm.

good to hear from you after such a long while!, i'm making the move out to Victoria tomorrow, long over due. not sure what part of the island your pub is on but it sounds like my kind of place.

Sean.

Glad to hear all is going well Bruce. Haven't visited the island in a couple years since running the Lululemon half marathon. Next time we're out that way we'll be sure to stop by.

Nice to hear from you Bruce

I haven't forgotten how friendly and helpful you were when my made my first (and to date only) trip to the big Spring Expo back in 2010. Hanging around the HI booth and hitting the town with HI members was a ton of fun. Can't believe that was over six years ago now

Hey Bossman, nice to see you in here again my friend. I didn't get out to BC this summer as I made 2 trips to Socal but next time I'm on the island I'll be hitting up your pub for sure. Take care for now and my best to you and your family.
Cheers.
Dan.

Nobody is going to visit you if you send them the long way. It would be much faster to head west of Toronto. If I ever make it out that way, I will be sure to check out the pub. Glad to hear things are going well for you Bruce.

The missus and I had a great meal there. We got a bit of visit with Bruce. Alas he was in between appointments.

A pic of me on the dock that is attached to the pub.

I forgot to mention that the pub has a liquor store below it.

Free drinks? He's a scot which means short arms and deep pockets

Great to hear from you bud....UBC is on my daughter's radar so you never know :D

Lots of other interests and hobbies out their besides cards but without cards none of us may have met? So that's a plus for the "little pieces of cardboard with man pictures".

Great to see life treating you well Bruce, enjoy and cheers!

Hey Bruce,

Great to hear from you. Always glad to hear how you are doing.

If I ever make it out to BC I will be sure to stop by.

All the best.

Nice to hear from you Bruce. I miss having you around here. If I ever get out that way I will definitely drop by the pub for a few

I'd love to check out the pub, as BC is originally my home province and have always loved the Island. If I am ever on the Island I will drop by. What kind of pub food do you serve?

Shows how much I'm on here, I just saw this pic now! Was cool to see you here, and in Edmonton when you dropped by.

The invite is still open to all HIers. And yes, I *might* even buy you a drink. ;)
