Carey price ice premier patches ebay listing

"reserve not met" apparently he's expecting over $800

I'm not sure how high it could go but there are a few guys chasing those pretty hard

This will be a fun one to watch. I'm with Mike....$1500 plus.

I had a Giroux Fresh Threads auto /5

Regrettably, I sold it for something like $250.

Before he decided to become a superstar.

I would expect the Price to reach $1500-2000 easily, before that auction ends.

You have a set with very dedicated collectors plus a card featuring a top rookie from that year who happens to play for perhaps the most collected team in the hobby. It's pure gold. I won't be surprised to see it go close to, or over $2000.

Unreal price for a overrated and very inconsistent player (IMO), sorry all fans.
In nowadays standars it's just enough to be a decent player (been drafted highly is a huge plus also) and playing for the right team to become a absolute superstar no matter if the player has/had more bad seasons than the good ones.

$2000-$2500 is my guess, just don't mess with those so called set-collectors, they're just scary!

I now think this card will fetch over 2k easily.

Frendo you think price is overrated? Compare his stats to Tom Barasso, they were both drafted fifth overall.

Yes I do, because he's the 5-top highest valued golaies in the market for now, but of course he's still young and much can happening in the future so I may revise my opinions then.

T.Barrasso & J.Hedberg are just mere commons as goalies (even if T.Barrasso has 2 SC, 1 Vezina + 4 times as a finalist + 2 other more hardwares + been shortlisted as probably member of HoF for a quite time now plus some pretty impressive records) but I'm just happy that he's quite cheap compared with many others.

Ok my comment may be stupid, I may be too fixated to prices at lately but I think that only Crosby, Malkin + Ovie from all those who debuted at post lock-out 2005 who has stats who justifies their high prices of their cards from their RC-years.

The card ended without meeting the reserve. Pretty sure the person selling it did not want to sell it, just wanted to see what it was worth.

Edit: confirmed....

"I just want to make sure that i will sold the card at a good price. Now i know that i can get aroud $ 2000 for this card."

His idea of "around $2000" differs from mine by about $300 :D

I agree, part of me thinks someone he knows was bidding this card up knowing a impossible reserve just so he could sell it off eBay for a ton of money. As soon as I messages him he wanted to know if I wanted to buy the card now.

On one hand it's not a horrible idea to see where the market of a card is if he truly let folks bid it up and didn't have any pseudo-shilling going on.

On the other hand - he is really flirting with disaster. If I was serious about acquiring this card I would have real reservations about dealing with this seller.

That 1670 high bid would probably be a lot more if the auction had no reserve. From my experience, people simply don't bid on items with reserve prices on them. I know I don't. You frequently see items ended for $50-100 that typically sell for $2-300 because there was a reserve.
