Hey everyone,
As I wind down my pursuit of collecting all the Edmonton Oilers Franchise History autos, I was wondering if there were any plans to do Chronology Volume 3. I fully expect that there won't be a full product release since it wasn't exactly a popular(or even good) product, but I did like the attempt to have a consistent design across multiple products and had a checklist of various players from fringe to star to hall of fame.

If they only planned to do 2 volumes, for me personally, it seems like a waste of a pretty cool idea, and would be a shame not to have guys like Glenn Anderson, Leon Draisaitl, Craig MacTavish, etc. for my collection.

I really liked Chronology too - but I wouldn't have touched the boxes at that price. I was happy to add singles (mostly Oilers as well) to my collection.

If there was a 3rd edition, I'm sure there's be some singles I'd be after (though I hope it would be closer to the 1st in content.... mostly vets, and lots who don't usually appear in UD sets)

I think UD intended for it to be two releases. First one was more of retired players and the second one was more for current players.

I feel like UD really missed the ball with the Lettermen from the second release. Many cards were not actually material letters and were an ironed on letter. Plus many of those Lettermen were not even signed.

I agree with you, but I do think UD was in a really rough spot. Chronology Vol. 2 got hit really hard by the combination of the start of COVID isolation regulations and product/material shortages. The manufacturers they normally used for the letterman cards dried up and they decided to go with the styrene plastic they use for their Golf sets instead.

Totally get why they did it, though I would have preferred they just removed the non-auto'd styrene letterman from the checklist. I know every box can't be a winner but it is still a kick to the nether-regions to open a $200+ box and the "premium" hit is an unsigned Brendan Gallagher plastic sheet card of the letter "L."

Anyway, I would love for them to revisit Chronology again down the line. Also looking forward to SP Legends Signature Edition. Give me my retired and veteran players, please.

That's one product I'm waiting for. Usually, I'm not going after 150+CAD wax, but this one will be an exception! :)
