Chuck Fletcher son of Cliff next GM of the Wild

I'm cool with that, though you have to wonder why they couldn't wait until Pittsburgh was out of the playoffs? I guess they want to make sure he's familiar with the team heading into free agency and the draft, but still...

Ah well... wonder if he'll end up with the 'trader' designation like his pa.

I like it, too. Just about anyone is an upgrade from Riser. Now Chuck needs to go find us a coach that doesn't play the trap, so I don't have to hear how boring the Wild are to watch from hockey fans outside if Minnesota. Man that was getting old.

...and please re-sign our only true goal scorer, Fletch! Go Wild!

I understand why Pens fans don't give too much of a rip, but I know there are a few more Wild fans besides me here. What do you guys think?

Cory, the playoffs end in mid-June...the Wild need a GM now so he can hire a coach, get ready for the draft, etc. Need it done sooner than later.

Fletcher was an assistant GM at Pittsburgh...not much else he could do for the Pens for the rest of the playoffs except watch. He could orchestrate a trade before he left, if he wanted: Crosby, Malkin, and Stall to the Wild for John Scott, PM Bouchard, and James Sheppard. :D

A very reliable source has told me that Craig Leipold had a sit-down with some of the Wild veterans and told them that the intent was to take the team in a different direction this year, and that they would be playing a more wide-open, offensive game. They were further told that the people they hired would be aware of and in agreement with this mandate.

I also heard some news on the second thing you mentioned, and it does not sound promising.

But you didn't hear that from me. ;)
