Wasn't he looking for $20+ million in arbitration? Guess the Astros figured they had to settle to avoid what it might've cost. Didn't think he'd come back after Beltran went to the Mets.
Wonder if Kris Benson's wife has anything to do with all the free agents going to the Mets. She did say she'd sleep with the entire team if he cheated on her. And she's a former stripper and still models.

Wow, great news!
Even being as optimistic as I could about the situation, I was never very confident that he was going to come back.
18 million is a lot of money, but it will probably pay off for the Astros. Clemens will not only improve a very good team, but he will bring many people out to the stadium.

2005 Salary: $18 million
$26 million over two years is in no way unreasonable for a player of his caliber in today's market.

Pettitte will improve the staff but they lost alot of offense and Bagwell isnt the Bagwell he used to be.
He will have another decent year, maybe hes coming back to immortalize himself and improve his stats

Clemens, Oswalt, Pettite, Backe is one heck of a rotation.
They still have a decent lineup to go along with the pitching. They will be in World Series contention again this year.

yea i think looks pretty good too this burke kid is supposed to be the goods and we finally get to see what lane can realy do, im pretty optimistic this season, sure we dont got beltran or kent, but at least we got a solid healthy rotation and solid power in the lineup

Burke is. I'm guessing Dherm's going by Sportsline's depth chart, where they have Vizcaino and Bruntlett ahead of Burke, but as it stands, Burke's the '05 second baseman.Clemens9 said:
If they add another outfielder, Biggio might move back. With Berkman out for at least a month into the season, I imagine they'll keep Biggio in the OF even if they sign someone, and give Burke a shot at keeping the job until Berkman's back at least.
