Laine will quickly realize how good he had it with the Jets. Playing under Tortarella is no picnic.

None of the players traded will ever come close to Selanne but I get the initial frustration. Dubois could end up being a great player if he checks his ego at the door and just plays hockey. From the WPG players traded away I think Roslovic might be the better overall player long term. It’s amazing to me how whiny these players are and how much control they have over teams. It would be extremely frustrating to be a coach or GM of these modern day cry babies, but not surprised given the “climate” they were brought up in.

Winnipeg gave up a lot for Dubois. No way Calgary on Montreal was matching that.

Welcome to the Blue Jackets Laine and Roslovic. Sucks that their center depth took a step back but I'm excited about Laine. Hopefully he likes it in Columbus and sticks around. Yeah he complained about the players he played with in Winnipeg but hopefully he'll like being one of, if not, the main guy on Columbus and that makes him stay long term. As for Roslovic, would be amazing if he's a late bloomer and playing in his hometown gets him pumped up. Funny all 3 players wanted out and gets traded in the same deal.

I don’t see either player staying in their new franchises long term. Roslovic is an Columbus native so he certainly will.

Dubois is the best player in this trade I believe. Think the Jets won this one but it’s a pretty crazy trade!!!

CBJ absolutely killed this deal, but there is simply something about the Blue Jackets. They are a boring team, and I'm honestly thinking if they added Crosby and Ovechkin, they would still be a boring team for some reason.

EDIT: I hope Dubois bombs, which i'm feeling positively about.

I'm happy Dubois didn't go to Montréal. I'm not a big fan of Drouin, and I see a similar problem of attitude with Dubois.

I haven't seen much hockey of Dubois and Laine, but from my perception, I prefer Laine.

Not sure if it's true but I've seen some people say (1 person said it was from the Finnish media) Laine and Columbus are already in talks on a long term extension. Will it happen soon? Who knows. Maybe Laine wants the guaranteed money and perhaps he asks for a trade down the road but for now, looks like he'll give Columbus a chance.

As for Dubois, like one of the posters said, his dad is an assistant for their AHL team so his parents are already in Winnipeg. Maybe his dad gets a promotion to the Jets in the future and maybe Dubois stays because of that.
