I've had a bit of luck whittling down the old want list following the Fall Expo as it seems a few folks busted some boxes of Lord Stanley's Mug. I've got lots of subsets that are on the verge of completion with just one card to go in a number of them, glad to have finished at least this one. I present to you my completed Cup Winning Goals set! The first batch of cards were relatively easy x/80... (boy if Game 7 had gone a different way, the first card could have been so much nicer!)

Now for the good stuff - the limited x/9 cards. I love the variety of different types of material from Kennedy's shoulder pads, to gloves of Geoffrion and Bailey, and skates for Lach, Barilko, and Morenz. The Ferguson was the last card to arrive today to finish the set.

Gorgeous set. The further I scroll down....the better it gets.

I hear ya' about the first card. Although I'm having a tougher time looking at that 1994 piece. Ugh.

Thanks for sharing.

Just awesome! Love it. Great job in finishing this set off. Very difficult to finish ITG sets that have SP #/9. Props to you.

and that's why I couldn't ever work on the set, Bergeron, Messier (at the Coliseum for that game) and Bossy (at the Coliseum for that game as well)

But without those three cards, that's a stunning set - well done.

Thanks for the comments everyone! Hopefully with a few more incoming I'll have some additional subsets to show off really soon.

Indeed, '94 was such a magical run, it definitely hurts to look at that one too.

Heh, my first memory of watching hockey was the '82 playoff run, and boy did I cry my eyes out when we lost. Boy, this set would have been so different to put together had history just worked out a little differently for the Canucks.

Congrats on completing the set! Love those Leaf Cup winning goals! Kinda makes me feel that anything is possible.

As Jim Carrey would say... "So... you're saying there's a chance!" ;)

congrats on that amazing set

are you going to do anything with it?

Heh, that's a very good question - this is just one subset out of nearly a thousand cards in the Lord Stanley's Mug master set that I'm working on. I have no good ideas on how to display such a monster set, right now it's one giant cubic foot of top loaders sitting in an Ikea storage container, I definitely have to do something better than that one day, but that's such a daunting task I'll have to work on as I get closer to finishing the set.
