When 13-14 ITG Used came out I opened a box and was lucky enough to pull a Complete Jersey card of Mario Lemieux. I liked the look of the card so I picked up a few more over the next month or so. Before I knew it I had 7 of the 12 cards so I thought I would try to complete the set. I still needed Jagr, Bure, Price, Selanne and Lindros.
Over the next year Jagr, Bure, Price, and Selanne all showed up. In each case I was fortunate that the sellers were willing to negotiate and all came down considerably from their original asking prices.
I was down to needing only 1 card.......Eric Lindros. Up to that point I had only ever seen 1 copy for sale and it was the Gold 1/1 version....not the Silver /9 version that I needed. Then last October the Lindros /9 showed up on Ebay but the asking price was about 3 times what I thought the card was worth. I contacted the seller but he was not willing to budge from his asking price. As tough as it was to do I had to walk away from the card.
Last week, just on a whim, I decided to do a quick search for the card. To my surprise, another copy of the Lindros card had been listed just a few hours earlier. I contacted the seller, made what I thought was a fair offer, and he accepted. Five days later and the card was in my hands.:dance::dance:
I guess it's possible that with such a low print run I may own the only completed set. Here's what it looks like.....
