There was also a light blue pen mark near the bottom right corner of the Rangers logo, I rewound just to make sure I wasn’t seeing things. But whatever, at least a lower tiered team got him instead of Pitt, Tor, Nash, or EDM.

As a Flyers fan, I was hoping the pick would go to Winnipeg, Nashville, or Minnesota. Not to the Penguins or Edmonton. Pittsburgh just because I had to live through Crosby and Malkin while we ended up with JVR and Nolan P. with our best picks (2nd overalls). Edmonton because that franchise is run like some hot garbage...so far totally wasting the best player in a generation. Not great that 1st overall goes to another Division rival, but I can respect what that franchise is doing to rebuild and how they have gone about it.

I wouldn't read anything into the accidental ball drop. Take a look at the dude's face when it happened...look of pure embarrassment.

I remember people saying the draft was fixed the year Crosby was selected. Truth is only one fan base is going to be pleased. Im not buying into conspiracy theories. It is what it is. Just hope Pens keep this years pick..... I have doubts they'll have the better pick unless they tank it. Sure Pittsburghs better years are probably behind them but not sure the window is closed yet

There's avideo floating around of a closeup of the ping pong balls jumping around and the Toronto ball getting sucked in about 2cm from the chute and then the Minnesota ball knocking it out of the way only for the NYR ball to make it's way up.

Toronto was literally a couple cm away from having Lafreniere, Matthews, Marner, Tavares and Nylander as their top 5
