When we first put together the 2015-16 UD Black master set, the goal was to get one of each card to therefore call it a ‘master set’. We looked at master checklists and then watched out for updates that came in different years or different brands, to make sure that our master set was always 100% complete.
Of the different cards that Upper Deck had created, many parallels were also created which can be called ‘spectrum’ versions of the card. These variations are usually short prints or super short prints of the specific card, there is usually an autographed version of the card (except for Sixes Relics Booklets), and relics cards can come in a Premium relics version that usually has embroidery and multi colours.
In this collection, there are all 14 Connor McDavid cards from this rookie year. When we first put the collection together there were a few cards that we had the ‘basic’ version. These basic versions were for the Sixes Relics Booklet, Rookie Trademarks, Showcase Rookie Relics, and Rookie Coverage.
Well, that has changed because we have upgraded some of these McDavid cards to short prints and autographed cards. Below you will see the 3 newest upgrades to our collection, all for Connor McDavid.

The Sixes Relics Booklet is the only card of the 14 that does not come with an autographed version. However, the Premium Relics version of the card, number out of /5, has been acquired to enhance the collection. Having this super short print enhances the quality of the McDavid cards, making this collection perfect for the Connor McDavid fans out there.
With the Showcase Rookie Relics card, the collection now has an Auto Chest Patch, numbered out of /10, that has been upgraded with our collection, again making it much rarer and more unique for McDavid lovers.
My personal favourite of the newest upgrades is the Rookie Trademarks relic, numbered out of /40. There may be many more copies of this card when comparing to the other McDavid upgrades, but I really like the gold trim around the relics patch.
Overall, this Connor McDavid collection is one of a kind, being that it includes all 14 rookie cards, almost all of them are autographed, and virtually each of them is numbered no higher than /49. (The only exception is that the Pro Penmanship card is not numbered, but is Class A, representing it is the hardest Pro Penmanship card to find.)
We have watched these McDavid cards on eBay, Facebook, and at card shows (pre-covid), and are noticing that these cards are only getting harder and harder to find based on the idea that collectors are holding on to McDavid as his stock rises. The ones that we do see (mostly on eBay) are priced high, and are selling, therefore only making these McDavid rookies harder to accumulate for the Connor fans out there.
