Very curious to see what members think of the following question:

"If you were to ask someone to sell your cards on Ebay, what percentage of sales would you be willing to offer him/her?" (please consider that combined Ebay and Paypal take approximately 15% from the start).

I think a lot of it depends on what is being sold. Are we talking about a few cards or a large collection? What type of value? If you are talking 4-5 very high end cards it's going to be a lower fee than if you are talking 100's of low-mid end cards. A lot depends on the work that is going to be involved and the value before a realistic answer can be given.

I have never done that. But I would think that 50% of the sale should go to expenses.Which would include the eBay and pay pal fees, cosigner fees and packaging/ postage. Leaving you the owner the remaining 50%. I have a couple friends that do this and they are at about 30-35% for their time listing, selling and preparing the item when it is sold.

If you’re going that route just use PWCC. Their fee structure is cheap in comparison to most consignment alternatives and they certainly get plenty of bids on whatever they sell.

If I'm asking someone to consign stuff for me, I offer 15-20% of net as the fee. If I'm consigning, I ask either 30% of gross or 20% of net.

Haven't had anyone get mad at me yet.

Done this for several people - some very large collections - my fees are 30% of selling price - I take care of all fees / taxes where applicable. Never had a complaint - everyone happy all around.

Good luck

Never used PWCC, but if you are going consignment, I would heavily recommend using a professional service that will guarantee payment to you, once they have the cards in hand. The middle man will reduce the odds of you getting scammed. They will vet the buyers and once the card shows up in their possession, you will hopefully be guaranteed payment.

The last time I used PWCC they offered 50% of the estimated final value of the cards I sent in cash up front. They also paid out very quickly. The only downside of PWCC is how long it takes for your card to actually make it to auction.

If you're not in a hurry, PWCC is probably the best option on eBay. I think they charged somewhere between 10-15% of final value of about $3000.

Probstein123 is actually better than PWCC if you're looking to get the card at auction quickly... They will list the carsd the day or the day after they receive them. I think they do 10 day auctions. Usually 9% is their fee across the board, unless its all low end, then it would be higher... If you've got a hot card andante to take advantage of the hot market at the time it's best to go Probstein for sure.
