So, this was the weekend of my big event. This friday was our 7th annual Corey Perry A round for a cure charity golf tournament. About a month ago via twitter Mark Hominick agreed to come to our meet and greet the night before and he would be bringing stuff for our auction and prize table. The day before the meet and greet we learned from a third party it was the short he wore in UFC 129.
When he showed up I noticed that he had a pair of grey shorts in his hands. Hmmmmmmm......I thought he wore red. When he got closer I noticed that the shorts had tags. He never really brought up the other shorts except to say that the shorts he was going to bring he could not and I do not blame him. But he had a ton of pics and the shorts were really cool. Mark is not only a terrific athlete but he is an incredible person. He is the nicest guy I have ever met. I mean this guy was great with all of the kids and with all of our guests. Along with Hominick was Sam Stout. I heard he was coming but it was not 100%. I knew Sam from school and already knew he was a good guy. I Thanked him for coming out and he mingled with the guests. Sam came over to me towards the end of the night and said he had a few things he could bring the next day for our event.
So I'm setting up the morning of the event and Sam comes over and hands me a few pics and a pair of gloves. I thanked him for the items and asked about the gloves. The gloves were from UFC 131 in Vancouver where he had his first KO of his UFC career against ring vet Yves Edwards. This was an AMAZING item to add to our auction. I wish I had a computer to shout out to you all and see if you were interested. The gloves went for $450 which thrilled us to death.
This all being said I had an amazing time and it was great to see Sam again and it was even better to meet mark. Below is a pic of us at the meet and greet......man I have to lose weight before the wedding...hahahaha.
