"Country Pricing" in the next Canadian federal budget

It appears the next Canadian federal budget will attempt to address "country pricing". An example is when there is a separate price on a magazine or book for the US and Canada. The Canadian price is usually significantly higher.

The same pricing also appears on retail hockey products. Will this new rule affect hockey cards?

I think this would have been possible if it was a year or two ago.
With the decline of the CDN dollar in the past few months, i see this as a pipe dream.

They cut the tariffs and taxes on hockey equipment last budget, and I didn't see a damn thing change for Evelyn's equipment or mine. Just means more money in the pocket of the retailer.

Perhaps. In the end the Canadian retailer can charge whatever they want for a product I suppose. Still, it would be nice not to have to deal with the "$19.99 US / $29.99 CAN" pricing pre-printed on retail boxes.
