Crazy prices in other sports

So I've seen multiple posts on how crazy the card marketplace is, and how hockey is not nearly as elevated. To be honest, I'm only a hockey guy, so I had no tangible idea of where things had gone. I just had an email come in from Blowout yesterday about "Grail Wax". Of course I had to open it to see what it was. I can honestly say my mind is blown! In some cases they are asking $16k U.S. for a single box!? I can't fathom a collector who would buy in at that price, but that's just the small world I live in I guess. Are you looking at those Transcendent boxes? Those things are loaded. Look up Phil's Pulls on YouTube, he's opened a few. They have IIRC a complete auto set, with each card varying in serial number from 1/1 to /25 I believe, a massive cut auto, a ridiculous buyback, a superfractor 1/1, and some other added goodie which depends on the product. But yeah...stupid expensive.

Panini just released a basketball product, Eminence which has 9 autos in the box. Suggest Retail Price is pushing $50,000.

Our local is doing a group break on their Eminence box plus some Flawless. You pick your spot. First choice was $12,000. Second choice was $10,000 and I forget the rest of the pricing.

Crazy??? Absolutely!!!!

Wow. 50k for 9 autos? I had no idea it had gotten to that kind of level. Wayyyyyyy outta my league.
