Crosby Auction

I just took the chance I figure if I get it for 3k it is a steel if it doesn't come I will do a charge back through paypal

It's not that easy,... once you pay, it becomes he said she said. In the end if the seller is out to get your money, you'll pay and be the one left hanging,...

I've had someone send me a fake package with nothing inside except an empty toploader and tracking. I never saw my money back,... it's NOT fun. Ebay and paypal said the seller provided the tracking number and sided on their side.

I wouldn't think about bidding on that card. Who with ZERO feedback would put up a Crosby Cup RC,... as a seller you would want the highest feedback to give buyers confidence.

the best way is to pay with a credit card and then charge back through paypal that way paypal's policy is to not fight over charge backs with credit card companys

I filed a chargeback and won and paypal said "yes, we aggree with you, but we can't get the funds back from the sellers acct, so sorry." They only refund if THEY still have cash in their paypal acct. I started the process to go through my credit card reversal, and the card showed up 2 mo late. I should have followed through then made paypal jump through a bunch of hoops to get it back. You do have to switch your acct # or CC # after doing this to paypal or they will keep sending charges to you.

to0 good to be true = too good to be true.
IF you are going to chance it it would have to seen with a photo with today's paper. But for a few hundred i would try but not thousands

I asked him for the xx/99 and he comes back to me at 36/99. If you check the Gomaz Archives it is the 94/99. This is clearly a fraud auction, please stay away from this clown!

It also looks like its 2 different pictures. the grading on the top seems to look a lot more clear in the scan then the rest of the scan including the card, I think he photoshopped a grading picture on top of another picture he stole.

2 stolen pictures to make up one graded crosby cup rookie.

I wouldnt bid, here is why:

crazycollector818

818 area code is in the East Fernando Valley of L.A. County. Item location is in Goleta, CA. Thats about 2-3 hours away.

As a local person thats what caught my eye most.

While I agree that the auction looks fishy and I would not bid....

There is still a way to protect yourself 9at least according to the US Visa/Mastercard rules). I realize that Paypal will not stand up to purchases - and protect the buyer - But MC/Visa will!!!

Pay for the item with a Visa or Matercard backed Paypal (make sure there are no funds currently in your account. make sure the item is shipped with Signature Confirmation at the least - so that you can open it in front of the delivery mail person. That way you are protected in case the package does not have the item. If the package never arrives - file a chargeback with Visa/MC - do not even bother with Paypal.

Paypal gets pissed off - but they did not cancel my account - and there is not a damn thing they can do about it. In this case they are out the funds.... and I bet you they try much harder to collect when it comes from their pocket!!!

I've done that before, asked for a picture with some common household item (I picked a kitchen knife) and explained why. Both times they sent it to me and I won their auction.
