That is a big blow, but better to get him healthy now.

Lots of big long term injuries in the NHL this season.

He was never the same after double-hernia surgery.

He became a shadow of himself after the surgery/ies for it. People love to call him a flash in the pan because of the one season with Thornton but he was good/decent before Jumbo. Pretty sure he had groin problems around the same time as well.
