So now that we've seen breaks from The Cup how does everyone think the value of the crosby RC /99 compare to the /87? I'll say that the "offical" RC /99 will fetch $500-700 above its only slightly more limited brother. Any other thoughts?

This is what students with not nealy enough money to drop $300 on 1 pack do, bear with me.

Justin, I think the one /87 will sell for about 60% - 70% of what the one /99 sells for, depending on the swatches obviously. I'd say a half decent 3 colour patch /99 will sell in the $4000 range and a 3 colour /87 around $2500 - $3000. Thats my opinion... anyone dispute it?? Come on, bring it ;)

Rod,

It's funny the diffrence two little letters in a magazine can make in a card's "value". My inital guess might have under estimated that diffrence.

I would have guessed that the crosby /87 would sell for more, no??

I know its not an "official" rookie and that its a parallel, but i think there being 12 fewer copies would make it slightly more valuable?

Im not sure... but i am sure that the ovy /8 will be more than the one /99 :D

Pretty comparable print runs - all things being equal -the gold goes for about half to 3/4 of the RC
