Verified Trader,
Well, I finally finished my masterpiece that has been inthe works for almost two years and I just had to show it off. I realize this may not be the place, but I think most people here know me as a Tretiak collector so I thought I would share it with you. I juist had to.
I designed the prototype almost two years ago and it was at a manufacturer for well over a year and an half and he never touched it. So I finally found someone else to make it and they did a fantastic job in under three weeks.
During the wait I created and had the decals made and picked up few Jofa helmets for the project. ONce I got the cages inhand I started to design the chin cup and strap from poor low-res pictures. I ended up talking to Vic (Kharlamov17) during this time and he mentioned how we spoke over two years ago about him trying to help me find some old Jofa catalogs.Well ironically he picked one up jsut as I was starting to create the chin cups, and sent me some of the pics and made it much easier for me to design it. Thanks again Vic. So once I made those I rivited them onto the helmet and applied the stickers and well.....here it is...1972 Vladidlav Tretiak Custom Jofa VM Helmet and Cage in all of its glory.
The Original...
The replica....
And I also put together a genuine 1974 (ish) version with new decals.
The Original....
The Copy..
Thanks for looking
