Got these today, damage on right edge of card (middle area). Scanned these two, but a few others have the same issue.

Its tough to see on the scan, but it is noticable in hand. Anyone else have this problem? Any advice?

I can see it on both, it seems that the fw patch auto's have had that problem this year. the eberle patch looks funny though, probably a UD mixup but it looks more like a Caps jersey than an Oilers jersey...

Yeah I can see the damage on both, I am sure it looks worse in hand also. Unfortunately this seems to be a very common problem with the FW Patches this year. So far it seems to pretty much be across the whole set/all players. I have yet to hear what UD has had to say, but I doubt that they have that many for replacement stock.

I saw a guy open a case and all 4 rookie patch cards had that same damage on right edge, too. Hmmmmmmmmm  :foottap:

Nice cards though!!

You mean the chipping? the 07-08 Future Watch (non patch) had this problem as well.

That's why I hate dark borders on auto'd cards because the damage becomes a lot more obvious with all the handling, signing, shipping, re-insertion into packs etc...

Is this going to be a huge issue though? If the majority of these cards are coming like this out of the package won't people just consider it a condition sensitive set and maybe pay higher premiums for better condition ones?

It can't just be shrugged off, companies need to know it's not okay to have so many cards get into packs damaged. That is especially true of big-dollar patch cards that are the backbone of a product.

Yah that is very true. These are some of the biggest cards of the year and they are coming out like this. I don't know anything about the production of cards, so is it the card cutter that they use that does this? or would stuff like this happen in transport at all?

i was told to just call it in. but im going to bring them to the expo first. will update people if i get a response worth updating. if not, just call them
