So i did a sales thread about 6 weeks ago , as well as a few trades , and a few Ebay sales. I shipped a total of 11 packages in one lump mailday at the local post office shortly thereafter. These packages were going to both Canada and the USA . AFter a coupe of weeks i started getting messages from the Canadian traders and buyers stating they havent recieved the items , just thought it was a slow week. The next couple weeks the same from some of my American trading and buying partners. So investigating i went , after a week hitch on the rig hoping the items show up. AFter a few phone calls i got nowhere , was told everything was out of their hands. A few days later ( early this week) i paid a visit to the post office to talk to the post office manager.
After asking him to do a search , he pulls my half cut up mailers out of box on wheels. He then proceeded to tell me they were marked for inspection by the postal service ( i ask who? , He says he cant tell me?) . After explaining that these are items that are purchased and traded for to other people , he could of cared less. He said they were marked because of the volume of mailers i send out .
Now , i will usually mail 4-10 mailers at a time , a couple times a month , but highly doubt my volume is anywhere near "concern" volumes. We had a fairly heated discussion , mostly because i was not made aware of the fact that they were doing this , and after the fact i was not aware that the mailers were not sent because they were cut up. Needless to say i beyond pissed. He gave me back the mailers , and the cards werent removed or damaged in anyway from their holders , but still?
Has this happened to anyone else? Or anything like it. I think the fact i was not contacted in a city of 10,000 people is ridiculous , especially if they are done with the "inspection". Not his department ," they always come back looking for them" he says. He wouldnt even tell me what they were looking for.

I always used the local pharmasave to mail until i had an issue with an Express envelope that wasnt sent , so then i started going to the post office. The mailers were resent by me late Friday , from the pharmasave , i even had my Dad who works in Regina , send a mailer from there from a trade i made while looking into what happened with these mailers. SO now it cost me double , twice the mailers , and 6-8 weeks of time when its all said and done. I have been in contact with my traders and buyers in the meantime , and have started issuing refunds in the meantime to keep everything on the level , but what a piss off this has been.

ANY HELP with what kind of recourse besides filing a complaint ( which i did) i may have would be appreciated.
So to everyone waiting on their cards , they are on there way , as well as refunds to those i havent yet. And THANK YOU ALL FOR your patience. I didnt think it was a theft matter , but this was farthest from what i was thinking happened. Jason

That just seems ridiculous. I sometimes send out 50 items in one trip to my USPS. (I do tip them well  because it takes a while). And there are no complainants. I am not sure what to say in your situation, except go to a different post office.

You have a very real beef here. I'd start with CP's main office and work from there as a branch outlet is NOT authorized to open/search/inspect any mail - that is for the major postal centers (Mississauga for instance) or customs offices. You've had you mail intentionally damaged and should be compensated at the very least.

That's awful but you're dealing with a giant government monolith so if you end up getting compensated let me know because I have no idea how to get them to owe up to their incompetence.

Ouch never heard of them randomly doing that before, and 1 would think if they did open and not send out, that is the same as federal offence in mail being stolen, and not delivered Start at 1 level and work your way up, it always helps when u say u r going to the newspaper, and report it to see if others has occurred to as well

best of luck

Not quite the same i took 8 items to the PO and all 8 came back in a week or to marked insufficent postage.......Ummm well they are the ones that weighed each package and told me what i needed to pay and i did then they came back to me and all they said was not in their hands must be at main office so i had to pay to send them out a second time as they wouldn't give me any credit on what i had already paid out...funny thing was i paid to same amount that i paid for on each package the second time as well...what sense does it make....Post Office gov run should we expect less ...

Thank the stars that you got your cards back, but I would be on the horn to CP management or the ombudsman or whomever you direct these instances to. They need to know that this kind of BS is going on at that outlet.

Try calling your local MP.The Post master probably owes him for the job. Also write a letter to the editor of the local paper. Would be interesting if other people's mail is also being unilaterally tossed aside and then flimsy excuses are made.

Darren , CP's main office said they would get back to me today or tomorrow when they " gather " all the information. He says searches do happen , but notification must be involved and they have to have reason to believe of wrongdoing or illegal activity. I will keep you guys posted. Hell , i just want my money back , its only around 25 $ , but still , an explanation would be nice.
