Noticed a discussion on UD Facebook page:

Dominion RC - Game Used RC /99

The Cup RC - Photo shoot RC /99 & /249
(The only time they used Game Used is for Crosby & Ovechkin RC back in 2005-06)

This makes sense why the majority of the Dominion RC /99 patches are Stunning !!! I imagine the cost are significantly higher to get game used compared to photo shoot.

Question 1: Now that there is finally competition for The Cup, will UD start to use Game Used on the high end product? Or continue to give collectors photo shoot junks year after year.

Question 2: Should Dominion have come out before The Cup release date? People are "broke" after dumping their money into the cup, and then find out Dominion gives a better value. :foottap:

Thoughts?

does Dominion really give better value though? what i'm seeing a trend is that people breaking by the tin are feeling they get better value with Dominion but case breakers are saying the glut of parallels, and common jerseys and autos aren't helping them catch up much.

1 - What competition ? Are the Dominion rc selling close to the Cup ? I see some Skinner /99 that can be add for the price of is future watch auto patch /100 that aint even a rc.

2 - Hell no, Panini is killing the aftermarket-hobby.

Panini is actually doing the opposite and flooding the market with these nice patches. Everyone wants a nice patch and the fact that Panini continues to offer these over and over again, it will become so common that is worthless in meaning.

The fact that a single jersey has more non-logo patches, justifies the using of single white (or whatever color) patches.

They should realize the more of something doesn't make it better.

Dominion also offers dual shields /5 LOLLLL

...

Game-Used, Event-Used, and Photo-shoot... Panini isn't even clear. Some of their cards stated game-used looks event or photo-used. All it is says is the "game-used" or "event-used" patch is guaranteed authentic. Honestly, we don't even know if that player wore it or it was a jersey won during that event or game by someone else LOL. I am pretty sure they won't do this but still...

...

I find it really funny that a Taylor Cup RC /99 can buy all or almost all of the Dominion /99.

...

While comparing these, please don't leave out the auto rookies of Dominion and might as well the Cup. Dominion made too many plain Auto Rookies /199 that brings no meaning into a high-end product.

Just out of curiousity, because I haven't been paying that much attention to the RC's in Dominion, which players have game-used jerseys included?

Sellers are making mistakes with Dominion. These RCs /99 only need time before they pick up. Exquisite Basketball started all of this and even the LeBron James ARP was "only" selling for $700 when it first hit. Now its $10,000+.

As for your questions:

1. UD won't change a thing. People are paying big money for Cup RCs with Foot Locker patches that even putting game used jerseys in the cards won't make them any more valuable.

2. Timing is everything. If Dominion came out BEFORE The Cup did, it may not have done anything for the value, but I think people would have spend money meant for The Cup on Dominion instead.

To say that Panini using a lot of great patches is going to eventually make them "worthless in meaning" is laughable. Panini is giving collectors what they want. It seems to me that when ITG does such a thing they get praised for it. I for one applaud Panini for getting so many amazing patches into the product and hope they continue that standard of excellence down the line.

In either case both are way over priced. These packs should be no more than $200.00 per pack.
