Excuse my ignorance with regards these 8x10 glossy cards from Donruss. I came across some to day and was given the Iginla by a friend. By Online Guide I guess they are worth $1.00. Is that the small card or the 8 x 10?? These would be nice to have if you are a fan of the particular player. My friend had Linden, Messier, Bure, Kariya (All Star), etc. I took Jarome as it was his Rookie season in Calgary. Any more information??

There are auto'd versions :eek: I have the Smyth, regular, and auto'd.
there's also 8x10's of those ones with holes in em,
forget what they're called.
If I knew where they all were I'd take some pictures for ya.
But I have only know where 2 of em are.
well,
let me go look.

(thisis of little help I know, sorry :( )

Mkay,
the one on the far left is a Silhouettes 8x10.
There's also a regular card size one of this card.

The middle, note the autograph and "authentic Signature" emboss right by the flash...well, under the flash, it's written on the Oilers crest.

The one on the far right is the regular version of that, and the regular version of the card.

Ahh, 97-98 Donruss Studio. That came out when I first started collecting, and my friend and I used to buy packs all the time. I was amazed by the "1:3" pack ratio for ALL inserts... especially knowing that every insert was numbered. I bought probably 10-15 packs and never pulled a single insert, meanwhile my friend was pulling them at a rate of closer to 1:2. Doh!

The 8x10s came at I believe 2 per pack, and each pack also contained 5 normal sized cards. There were auto'd versions of the 8x10 cards of Brodeur (/700), Ryan Smyth, and Iginla (/1000 each). Also, there was an 8x10 version of the Silhouettes insert, basically just a larger version, only numbered to 3000... twice as many printed (the standard size version had 1500 of each), and given a 0.5x multiplier in Beckett.

As for the regular size cards, there were the aforementioned Silhouettes inserts, as well as the Hard Hats inserts (/3000), and two Press Proof parallels to the base set - silver out of 1000, and gold out of 250.

Thanks Phil - I really appreciate that. They are nice portraits to be sure. To only choose Brodeur, Smitty and Jarome to included in the autos should make those quite rare.
