Draft lottery is dumb! I wish they'd just select where they finish. Chicago almost got the #1 overall pick..I mean..seriously?

I prefer a lottery over standings. I hate when teams tank to get a player. I still wish they'd make it more interesting by making the games after the trade deadline more meaningful. The team with the best record after the trade deadline that missed the playoffs gets #1 overall, 2nd gets #2 and so on. Imagine a final game of the season where if you win, you get to select Connor McDavid. Would you not go watch that game???

As a Blackhawk fan I was honestly pissed that they didn’t tank. At one point they were dead last in the NHL and the odds of sneaking in to the last wild card spot was not realistic. And even if they did, they would get smoked in the first round anyways. They decided to give it a go and not tank, and because of that they finished where they did and got lucky in the lottery. I’m obviously a tad biased, but I think it’s nice to see a team get rewarded for leaving it all on the ice and not tanking. :hi5:

I'm fine with the lottery. But I am assuming tanking is the reason Pittsburgh had Lemieux and therefore didn't relocate a long time ago
