eBay Auction......All i can do is shake my head... Really People??

Craziness! Why would a collector want a piece of jersey encased in anything except cardboard?

Why not? I see nothing wrong with it.

If UD and Dr Price can take a jersey and encapsulate it in a piece of cardboard, why not a piece of jewellery?

I'm actually surprised this hasn't happened sooner. For card collectors it may seem odd, but if you have a lady friend who is also a big hockey fan, this could be a great gift.

I actually dont mind those. He has a few cool pieces like the Ruth/Gehrig. Whats the real difference between cardboard and a piece of jewlery? I cant carry the card with me everywhere. I could, but people would think I was a weirdo:crazy: If you wore the GU stuff it would be a good conversation piece for people that might not be into cards but be huge sports fans. It might go like...

"Thats a cool looking bracelet. Whats on it?"

"Oh thanks. Its pieces of jerseys that Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig wore."

"Really. I am a huge Yankees fan and thats pretty cool"

"This is nothing. You should see what they do with sports cards now. They have pieces of game used jerseys, bats, sticks, autographs. All kinds of things"

"Thats awesome. Where can I get some"

"At your LCS of course"

That might be a stretch, but it could happen. All of the sudden we have a new collector in the hobby. So I wouldnt be too quick to call LAME on these.

On a side note, did Yzerman wear a Reebok jersey in 05-06?

The Ovy is pretty cool as well. It just needs a different kind of display. COA on the bottom, Meigrey tag in the middle (horizontal) and maybe a couple cards (One jersey card and an auto)

This of course is just my late night ramblings though.
