Sellers not subscribed to a Store: Starting April 19, list Auction-style FREE up to 50 items a month—any start price—and add the Buy It Now option FREE to capture those buyers in a hurry. You pay only if your item sells. Auction-style Final Value Fees will apply to the total amount of sale, including shipping. Starting July 6, Fixed Price Final Value Fee rates will be reduced and applied to the total amount of sale, including shipping.

So starting soon, eBay will be taking their fees from both sale price + shipping.

its only fixed price auctions? Just the BIN if I read it right

April 19: New Standard fees for Auction-style listings take effect, including Final Value Fees extended to cover the total amount of the sale—including shipping. If you don't currently have a Store subscription and you sell more than 50 items a month Auction-style, you'll most likely benefit from the overall discounted rates that come with an eBay Store subscription. See the fee chart to understand how your fees will change, then use the fee calculator to estimate what your fees will be for a specific listing.

Sorry, that was a poor choice of highlight/quote by myself - here's another link/quote.

Good because it gets rid of those people that charge $2 for a card and $40 shipping to circumvent the fees. Bad because Paypal already takes a percentage of my shipping charge, and now eBay gets to take a dip as well.

Love how they say opening a store could save you some final value fees. They don't mention that you'll spend more on the subscription fees some months.

So I expect to see shipping charges go up from sellers again. Always happens when there's a fee increase. But that makes eBay happy, they get a percentage of that now.

eBay is a racket...only designed to make eBay money....not so much the sellers.

Watch for more people to be filing unwarranted PayPal chargebacks because sellers won't use as much tracked Mailing/Shipping due to costs (knowing they'll get charged fees by eBay). Will have to use high starting prices now to make any $$.

And you're right, Chris. They hit you up on PayPal fees already for shipping. Double dipping. :foottap:

I had a good laugh at this trying to get to sleep before work tonight. Ebay has pushed the idea of Free Shipping so much for the same reason in the past year. If the item price is falsely elevated to reflect free shipping, then they get a 10% piece of the shipping cost....and now that they have shaded the majority of things that direction....it is mandatory. Yet another method of screwing the seller and giving the buyer unfair expectations. If you charge $3 for shipping, roughly $0.30 will go to eBay and another $0.15 to Paypal....but that bubbler with $2.18 postage on it looks like you are really shafting that poor buyer out of almost a whole DOLLAR!!.....Whar's my shotgun....!
Soooo, now, my $2US/$3NA/$4WW shipping goes to $2.50US/$3.50NA/$4.50WW, feeBay/PP gets 90% of that increase, I get 10% of that increase and my sales get decreased by the full amount and possibly more, well, because...."$2.50 is just too much for shipping, $2.00 I could live with, but...$2.50???!?!!" That may sound absurd to the majority of you, but I GUARANTEE I get that very email shortly after changing my shipping amounts to reflects eBay/PP's cut....

Another funny aspect was the "shopping cart" method of checkout...because "buyer's tend to spend more when they can see their item in a cart"...hahaha..BS!!! This is the complete role reversal by eBay and Paypal; they are trying to eliminate the majority of those CC per transaction fees buy lumping into a single payment versus multiple payments and coating that with a sugary lump o' brownness. It is not ok to avoid giving them a cut of the pie, but it is ok for them to avoid CC fees by any means necessary....

Thats nice ... I already have to charge Tracking + Insurance over 30$ ..(was at 60$ before) because of chargebacking scams.
Tracking from Canada to Canada is around 8.50$ .. from Canada to USA is 15-22$.
It already slowed down so sales, now ill have to pay fees on it too ?
Ebay dont get it that, in Canada, Covering your *** is not possible on 1-20$ cards(95% of the cards sell for that).
Really SICK of Ebay and the dumb rules they have to always make it harder and harder for sellers,
Easier and easier for the scammers, and all the profit for them.
Fees should be constant, i mean, whats the difference if you sell something 1$, 10$, 100$ or 1000$ ? NOTHING
Its should be illegal to get a % of a final sale on a auction.
If you buy a Advertising in the Newspapers for a 10$ Chair or a 10000$ Car, its cost you the same damn price for the Ad.
Why would Ebay take a better pourcentage of a card i sell it more than another ?
I bought the Card, I spent hours listing stuff, i do the handling.
Paying a % on the final price you sell the item would be the same as saying Ebay did the sale, but they didnt do nothing else than get on my nerves.
GO TO HELL EBAY !

A frustated powerseller
