Ebay help needed

Well im some what new to selling on Ebay and i now have someone with a paypal claim against me and im wondering do i just refund the money now or wait and let paypal do it? Heres a little info


auction ended march 29th

payment received april 2nd (good friday)

Card shipped april 5th (i wasnt around for the long weekend and i marked it as shipped on this day)

dispute filed on the 12th of april with paypal
claim filed now on the 16th.

So 11 days after it was shipped and the claim was filed i really can't belive it...

If i'm not mistaken, you've got 28 days once the dispute has been opened before Paypal automatically refunds the buyer his money.

So I wouldn't do anything but send him an email and tell him to "chill out and be patient, the card has been sent".

Hopefully it arrives before the 28 days are up and then he'll do the right thing and close the dispute.

And if it doesn't arrive before then... well, that would suck.

Welcome to ebay...the land where buyers are king!

I assume you didn't send the card with tracking AND a signature requirement...so even if the buyer receives the card, if he's dishonest he'll say it never arrived and then he'll get both a refund of his money and the card. While there's a .0000001 chance the card got lost or pilfered in the mail, I wonder if you should post the ID of the buyer on the Board if he says the card never arrived, so others can consider blocking him as an ebay buyer? Maybe if his existing ebay feedback suggests he's prone to that, then you should ID him/her. Sorry to hear about your all-too-common ebay problem...

my guess is, he's already dishonest, unless he's a newbe to
ebay. if you would, please post up his ebayid. I have records
of all my sales in the past 2 years (1000+) and will see if he
is in them.

any way you look at it, I don't want to sell to someone only
willing to wait a week.
